Better Decisions Begin with You
At Aon, we shape decisions for the better, to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organisation, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.
About the role
Griffiths & Armour, an Aon Company is one of the UK's leading insurance brokers, with a philosophy of offering clients a highly skilled, innovative and totally client-orientated service, looking very widely at all aspects of risk management. Our forward-thinking approach has led to our appointment as insurance brokers for a client profile which encompasses corporate, professional, commercial, public and individual sectors, many of whom have a combination of domestic and international exposures.
We believe in fostering strong relationships with our clients to understand their business needs, and this allows us to adopt an innovative approach which has helped us to establish an impressive and loyal client base.
Based in our Liverpool office with an impressive history of more than 90-years, working across a range of sectors, we offer graduates a structured and on-the-job training programme, which may involve rotating through different departments, within either our General Insurance or Professional Risks divisions.
Each division has a dedicated Manager to oversee development, providing regular support and feedback and connecting you with peers and experts.
As part of our commitment for steady growth and continuous improvement, we are looking to recruit graduates who share similar values to our own, who are looking for a rewarding career in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Your role as a General Insurance or Professional Risks graduate
- Responsibility for allocated clients (with supervision), including negotiating with insurers, cover placement and helping clients to manage their risk, as well as dealing with prospective clients with a view to securing new business.
- Providing Risk Management advice to clients.
- Creating, updating, and managing computer records, as appropriate, leveraging full and effective use of systems, procedures, and placement practices.
- Attending client meetings, accompanied by an experienced member of the team.
- Providing support to the team leader and other team members, where required.
- Performing any other duties which management may, from time to time, reasonably request.
Your Development
As a Griffiths & Armour, an Aon Company Graduate, you will be enrolled onto Aon's Launch Programme when you join. This development programme is built around 3 core elements:
Your career beyond your Graduate programme
Once you've completed the formal 18 month graduate programme you will be promoted into your next role within the team. We will continue to support technical and business skills training, and your CII qualifications. To aid your professional development you'll receive regular performance feedback, and work with your line manager towards promotions, enabling you to continue to progress.
Next Steps
If you are interested in this graduate programme and would like to apply, here are some things to help you:
Entry Requirements:
- You will need to have or be on track to achieve a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in any degree subject
- The nature of your degree is not of great significance. We attach more importance to graduates who are bright and enthusiastic, with good communication skills and a desire to take early responsibility and work with a degree of independence
Right to work
Our graduates are on permanent contracts from day one, we welcome applications from candidates who have their own right to work within the UK where you can maintain and demonstrate your right to work throughout the duration of your employment. This may include pre-settled or settled status from the EU Settlement Scheme - or if you have applied and you are waiting for a decision.
