We are looking for a seasoned Insurance Transformation Senior Manager/ Associate Director (Distribution focus) to join our team in Hong Kong. Our Transformation practice in Hong Kong is regarded as one of the fastest growing divisions within KPMG China and represents an experienced and enthusiastic team that drives itself towards continued success.
Being a Senior Manager/ Associate Director of our team, you will be involved with our clients in reviewing their current enterprise-wide insurance practices, identify possibilities to transform and enhance current business strategy, models and operations. You will not just take a leading role in managing a consulting team and ensuring successful delivery of Client projects but also in business development opportunities - end-to-end leadership and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
With a focus on client's distribution activities, you will work in collaboration with Clients and other consultants to define and build distribution strategies and drive the on-going development of optimised distribution and partnership channels.
- Lead and manage delivery of large-scale distribution transformations, working with our Client's Business Heads in developing and executing their distribution strategy. This may involve, identifying, sourcing, evaluating, and recommending partnership opportunities, defining distribution channel operations and relevant technology, digital, data and AI solutions to drive sales effectiveness/ efficiency.
- Define how to best monitor, track and optimise distribution based financial and non-financial performance, including KPI definitions; and assist Clients in realizing their outcomes/ targets.
- Conduct industry benchmarking analyses to ascertain relevant distribution channel performance (e.g., commercial terms and models for deal assessment)
- Participate and manage complex distribution technology, digital, data analytics and AI projects that are aimed at transforming distribution operations.
- Lead unified programmes for delivery to ensure execution is realized, driving effective and efficient business performance with Clients and partners.
- Facilitate steering committee meetings and align/ manage Client stakeholder expectations to ensure delivery of business plans and resolve critical issues. Ensure effective decision-making, escalation, and governance.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high quality through motivating consulting team members to excel in their roles and contribute to both a Clients and KPMG's success. Train, mentor, and evaluate team.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all Insurance Distribution-related enquiries; from business/ proposal development to project initiation/ delivery and closure. Be an advocate for KPMG, including within Learning & Development activities.
- University degree with a relevant university and/or professional qualifications in Business or Finance.
- Minimum of 10+ years relevant experiences and capabilities Distribution management (focus Insurance industry) with relevant business development, project and delivery management. Candidates with less experience may be considered for Manager roles.
- Strong strategic mindset to capture opportunities and navigate complexities in a complex and competitive insurance industry. Extensive knowledge of bancassurance business, retail customer segments and latest industry trends, to proactively identify sensitivities/ risks, and develop tangible solutions.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills. Proactive self-starter with vision and passion to drive effective and innovative distribution strategy and people initiatives. Strong people management skills with ability to build trust and influence senior stakeholder groups to achieve desired distribution strategy outcomes.
- Proficient in insurance software and technology with in-depth knowledge of insurance products, policies, and regulations.
- Proven track record in developing and motivating high performance, resilient and agile team members to action. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin would be an advantage.
