AIG Employee Services, Inc. has an opportunity for a Compliance Testing Reviewer in Houston, TX. This is an individual contributor role. Primary responsibilities will include:- Assist in the execution of the approved annual Compliance Testing Plan with moderate supervision.
- Prepare audit documentation (e.g., planning memos, process narratives, flow charts, lead sheets) and draft audit results (e.g., issues and reports) with an attention to detail and quality that requires minimal editing.
- Execute testing and accurately document work performed to support conclusions reached including the identification of root causes for breaches of local law, regulation policy and/or internal control deficiencies.
- Communicate test results to management both verbally and through written Compliance Testing reports. Provide input on issue and report ratings based on the work performed taking into account the risk to the entity.
- Work with management to confirm the factual accuracy of issues and determine appropriate remediation to address issues; evaluate the timeliness of proposed remedial actions by management.
- Work efficiently to complete assigned tasks timely.
- Assist colleagues in meeting department goals and objectives.
- Participate in special projects or ad-hoc assignments on an as-needed basis.
Job Requirements:
The ideal person for this role should have experience in an audit related role. Candidates will be expected to possess the following professional and personal attributes:
- Have 3+ years of audit related experience or insurance/financial industry experience with a focus on identifying risks and evaluating control design and operating effectiveness
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree; Accounting, Finance, or Business Analytics preferred
- Solid foundational knowledge of audit processes (e.g., planning, execution and reporting) and how to execute audits to effectively evaluate controls.
- Understanding / exposure to the insurance, finance services, and/or investments industry, including key business processes, risks, and related key laws and regulations.
- Proactive approach to enhancing industry (e.g., insurance), company (e.g., AIG), and professional knowledge (e.g., internal audit).
- Ability to assume ownership of assigned tasks and deliver a quality product within the agreed timelines including allocated hours.
- Demonstrate through experience a creative and proactive approach to meet project objectives.
- Ownership for work product including effectively documenting work performed and supporting conclusions reached.
- Effective time management with the ability to communicate competing priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; including the ability to clearly articulate questions and provide responses.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues and peers. Able to demonstrate collaboration and partnership and actively promote team work.
- Ability to demonstrate management courage/confidence; able to take a position and influence management.
- Able to demonstrate the use of problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).
- Proficiency in assessing and analyzing data.
- Insurance industry and/or Investments experience in an audit related field is preferred.
