Description
The purpose of this classification is to enforce Town codes and state/local codes/ordinances, to include conducing site inspections, researching code issues, identifying code violations and issuing notices/citations, maintaining case records, and presenting cases to the Special Magistrate.
*Position schedule may include working Saturdays and occasional early morning or late evening hours*
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required. One (1) year previous experience and/or training in the field of code enforcement or previous work experience involving public contact and public speaking skills, conducting site inspections, researching code violations, issuing notices or citations, and maintaining case records preferred. Fundamentals of Code Enforcement Level I Certification at hire, or required to be obtained within 12 months of hire; Officer Safety and Field Application Level IV Certification required to be obtained within 18 months of hire date. Must obtain a minimum of sixteen (16) continuing education united every two (2) years and maintain Florida Association of Code Enforcement membership. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida drivers' license.
